Woodman, Frank Gilbert, age 70, of Falmouth, Hants Co., passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at home, with his wife at his side. Born on July 31, 1944, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the youngest child of Owen and Freda (Rockwell) Woodman. Frank was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union. He was also a member of the Hants County Branch #009, Royal Canadian Legion. Frank’s passions including growing giant pumpkins along with his late father, fishing, hunting, winning most crib games, having an abundant garden and a cold room full of preserves which were shared with many. In earlier years he was a well-known goaltender, having played on many Valley teams. In later years he enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. He and Elaine spent many days taking “sight-seeing” drives, rarely having a destination in mind when they started out; but always having a wonderful day together. Frank is survived by his wife, Elaine (Beaton-Warner); son, Darren (Darlene Hughes), Avonport; daughter, Denise Marshall (Randy Bevis), Sackville; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister, Mildred Schofield, Falmouth; sister-in-law, Donna Mae Woodman, Falmouth; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Karen; brothers, Doug and David; brother-in-law, Lorne Schofield. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, April 2, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Town Road, Falmouth. Family flowers only, donations in memory of Frank, may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of one’s choice.
