MULLIN, JAMES EDWARD
MONCTON, NB – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of James Edward Mullin on June 8, 2015 at The Moncton Hospital. Born on October 25, 1935 in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Percy Mullin and the late Jennie (Fairweather) Mullin.
James was employed with Culinar Foods Inc. (McCormicks - Westons) for 42 years as a fork lift driver and warehouseman until 1995. He was then employed with Clarke’s Transport and retired in 1999. He enjoyed the outdoors and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. James enjoyed an active life style playing baseball and hockey until his late 60’s and continued to enjoy daily walks, bike rides and golfing. He enjoyed being with his family and was proud of his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member of Mountain View United Church, a member of the Finance Committee; and enjoyed volunteering at church functions.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth (Betty nee Mitchell) Mullin; his son Hal (Ellen) of Riverview, NB; daughters, all of Moncton, NB, Janet Richard (Leonard); Valerie Burke (Rick); Shelley Mullin (Rick Lewis); brother Russel (Annie) of Moncton, NB; brother Luther (Margaret) of Kingston ON; sister-in-law Margaret Mullin of Moncton, NB and many nieces and nephews; grandchildren Steven, Jenny (Brent), Nick (Janice), Shawn (Emily), Chris (Stephanie), Amy and Ashley.
Predeceased by brother Ralph; and sisters Hilda White (Walter), Lilus Bovard (Russell) and Joan Wilson (Joseph).
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday, June 10th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and on Thursday, June 11th from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A Service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at 11:00 am immediately after the viewing in Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Maund and Rev. Danny Compton officiating. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment at Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
