FORBES, ADRIANA LEONARDA
The passing of Adriana “Narda” Leonarda Forbes, wife of William Haggart, occurred on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Shannex – Thomas Hall. Born in Ouderamstel, Netherlands on January 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Cornelus and Everdina (VanBeek) Seeuwen.
Narda worked as a librarian for the Department of Transportation. She was a member St. Paul’s Anglican Church, the Girl Guides and also enjoyed the history of covered bridges, traveling, fishing, nature, gardening and sewing.
In addition to her husband, Narda is survived by her daughter, Karen Dudziak (Bogdan); sons, Robert Forbes (Mary), Bruce Forbes (Karen) and Kenneth Forbes (Debbie); five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Adrianus Seeuwen (Ans); sisters, Cornelia Mastenrock, Helena Ring, Hendrica de Jong, Margreta Barker; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Narda was predeceased by her first husband Donald Forbes; brother, Cornelis Seeuwen, and sisters, Germinate Van Der Weg, Maria Boere, and Katrina de Leeuw.
A private graveside service will take place at the Keswick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
