PALMER, H. NOREEN
H. Noreen Palmer, Surrounded by her family H. Noreen Palmer passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12th, 2015. Born in 1923 in Saint John, NB, Noreen was the daughter of the late Maurice and Anna (Sullivan) Garvin.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband James W. Palmer and granddaughter Melissa.
Noreen taught for many years in Milford School and was a well-respected member of the community. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved to be surrounded by all her children. She was an avid card player and enjoyed sharing this passion with her family and cherished friends. She was the model of an independent, determined woman dedicated to her family and enjoyed her long active life to the fullest.
Noreen will be sadly missed by sons Mark Palmer (Ellen), Blake Palmer (Teri) and daughter Jane Higgins (Donald), grandchildren Jim Palmer (Jess), Karen Casey (Richard), Michael Palmer (Amie), Janet Palmer, Ashley Fraser (Bob), Adam Palmer (Heather), Alyse Palmer, Allison Higgins and Erin Higgins; 10 great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Haley, Benjamin, Isabelle, Charlotte, Sophie, and Kate Palmer, Aiden and Dylan Casey, and James Fraser.
She was the last surviving member of her family and was predeceased by her sisters Doris, Geraldine, Peggy, Carmie, Theresa, and brother Maurice,
The family would like to thank Dr. W. Lee and the staff of 4BS for their excellent and compassionate care.
Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB, there will be visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, June 15th, 2015 and the funeral service will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church on Tuesday, June 16th, at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and L’Arche Saint John.
