WALL, GRETA JEAN
The passing of Greta Jean Wall, occurred on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Fredericton, NB. Born on October 23, 1923 in Taymouth, NB, she was predeceased by her husband of seventy-five years, L. Stewart (Buster) Wall in 2014.
She was a member of the Taymouth United Church. Greta dedicated her life to raising their five children and in her later years she was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to knit, crochet, and quilt, and entered her handiwork in the Stanley Fair. For many years she was the Grand Champion Knitter at the Fredericton Exhibition. She enjoyed attending craft sales, gardening, and caring for the hummingbirds.
Greta is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Fred Holland) of Richibucto Road, NB; sons, Dale Wall (Diane) of Stanley, NB and Russell Wall (Ethel) of Taymouth, NB; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Johnston (Thomas) of Fredericton, NB and Marion Grant of Taymouth, NB; daughter-in-law, Linda Wall of Holtville, NB; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents Greta was predeceased by her daughter, Carrol Canney; son, Gordon Wall; grandson, Timothy Canney; brother-in-law, Fraser Grant; niece, Deborah Evans, and nephew, Wayne Grant.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. A Funeral Service will be held at the Taymouth United Church on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 2 pm, with Rev. Yvette Swan officiating. Interment will take place at the Taymouth Community Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Taymouth United Church, the Canadian Diabetes Associaiton or the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada.
