CALLAHAN, HELEN JOAN
It is with heavy hearts the family of the late Helen J. Callahan, wife of the late Eldon “Cal” Callahan, announce her passing, which occurred on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 3, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Ella (Beyea) Arrowsmith. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Helen was a woman of faith, and was a valuable member of Silver Falls United Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whether it was over a cup of coffee at Tim Hortons, or sitting back listening to band music.
Helen will be missed by several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Cal, Helen was predeceased by her siblings: Joseph Arrowsmith, Lila Kirkpatrick (Eldon), William Arrowsmith (Josephine), Ethel Smart (Wes), Gerald Arrowsmith (Mary) and Eleanor Murray (Hugh); as well as four siblings who passed away as young children, Carl, Hazel, Blanche and Edward.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm. A celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 11:00am from Silver Falls United Church. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
