Josephine (Stubbard) Timmons
Our hearts are broken to announce the passing of such a wonderful soul, but we are thankful that God has peacfully released her from the horrible grips that Dementia had on her, so that she could join her loved ones in Eternal rest. On Friday June 19th Josie was welcomed into Heaven while her adoring husband Sonny held her hand.
Born in Reserve Mines Josie was the daughter of the late Rod & Isa Stubbard. Josie was the eldest of the seven girls and was among 10 siblings, she quickly took over the head of the family role, with the sudden passing of both parents. She was a rock, the one everyone could count on to be strong, supportive and truthful. She enjoyed large family outings, bingo, knitting, and although she never admitted it, even camping. Mom had a passion for Elvis like no other.
Josie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Daniel (Sonny) Timmons. During her illness Sonny devoted himself to keeping her home, and caring for her, so that she could maintain her dignity as long as possible and her children will be forever grateful for that. Josie had only one weakness, and that was her children/grandchildren. Among them are Danny; at home, Rodney(Florence); Dominion, Nadine (Bernie) Navarole; Reserve Mines, Jeremy (Nikki); Halifax. She was cherished by her grandchildren, Jason, Travais, Tanis, Tristen, Tyler, Carson, Kenedi, Brandon, Kaitlin, Kiana, Deven, Dasha, Tre, Caitlin, one great grandchild Jayla and Godchild Kayla. She was a devoted mother/grandmother, selfless and loved unconditionally.
Josie's family meant everything to her. She is also survived by brothers; George Stubbard & Erville (Billy) Stubbard, Sisters; Carol(James) Williams, Maurina Lynk, Velma MacNeil(Al Burke), and best friend/sister Isabel (Andrew) Donovan, Inlaws- Judy Stubbard(Bill) , Stan Saccary and Ernel Turnbull. She will also be missed dearly by all her nieces & nephews.
Besides her parents Josie is predeceased by brother; Shelly Stubbard, sisters; Marion Saccary, Lillian Paulin and Gerry Turnbull. Niece; Wanda, Nephews; Sgt. Jimmy, Rod(Tub), and inlaws Anne & L. Paulin.
Josephine spent the last several months under the loving care of the exceptional staff of MacDougalls Court at Harbourstone Enhanced Care. The staff go above and beyond and the family would like to express our appreciation for treating her like one of their own. Our family has made friendships there of the other residents and their family members by supporting each other through this terrible disease process, and you all will be in our thoughts as you continue on your journey.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be a graveside service officiated by Fr. Boone as she is laid to eternal rest with her parents on Wed. June 24th at 11 am, at Reserve's St. Joseph's Cemetary, McLeods Rd G.B.
