JOHNSTON, CEDRIC MARK
It is with great sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the death of Cedric Mark Johnston of Fredericton, NB. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn (Balmain) Johnston and the father of his precious three year old son Luke David Johnston. His death occurred after a brief illness on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Cedric was born October 5, 1963 to Irene (Banks) and Claude Johnston.
In addition to his wife, son and parents Cedric is survived by brothers, Robert and Eric Johnston; father and mother-in-law, David and Merle Balmain; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Michael) Wilkins and their children, Leah and Eli; as well as an uncle, several aunts, and cousins.
Cedric was employed as a dispatcher with Capital Towing Ltd. where he enjoyed much camaraderie and friendship.
He enjoyed all things associated with nature and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. A crisp morning on a wood’s trail or wading a river with a fly rod was what he truly enjoyed. Cedric also had a natural ability to construct or repair whatever he put his mind to. Many friends, family and neighbors benefited from his skill and generosity.
The family would like to sincerely thank the first responders, the staff of the ER and ICU, as well as Drs. Pniak, Aslam, Bryden and Blandford for their kind and compassionate care.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 1 pm with Rev. Terry Atkinson officiating. A family committal service will take place at the Sunny Bank Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Autism Society Canada or to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
