SYLVIA JESSOME

SYLVIA JESSOME
The family of the late Sylvia Jessome would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who supported her and our entire family during her illness and passing. To a remarkable nursing staff at Glace Bay Hospital 3rd floor south who cared for Sylvia with such compassion, love and humor that she spoke of being so loved and secure with them.To Dr Gordon Spencer who always ensured he was doing everything in his ability to offer exceptional care to Sylvia.Sylvia thought the world of him.Thank you as well to Dr.Burns and the Palliative Care Team who had just begun to get to know Sylvia. To everyone who reached out to Sylvia during her illness; you filled the walls of her hospital room with cards and her window ledge with a never ending garden of flowers – your visits and messages of support gave her strength and helped her realize what she meant to others- we can never thank you enough To everyone who offered emotional support to our family in dealing with this most significant loss of Sylvia, we thank you.For those of you who found a way to travel to be with us at our time of need and those who sent flowers, mass cards, sympathy cards, meals and shared of your time – we thank you.We would also like to thank so many of Sylvia’s lifetime friends and neighbours who have been such pillars of strength to the family while they also are suffering her loss.Thank you to four of Sylvia’s sisters (Francis, Judy, Viola and Jenny) who were able to travel to be with her and later with her family, and who together gave the offertory during the funeral mass. Thank you to Rev. Vernon Reid for officiating a beautiful funeral and to Kay McInnis(a lifelong family friend) who participated with pastoral assistance .Thank you to Allister Moore and Sheila Shea who spoke so lovingly about her at the service,to readers Suzanne Spencer and Shirley Furey and to Soloist Suzanne Gracie who sang “Gentle Woman” at Sylvia’s request. It was a beautiful send off for a beautiful woman.
We miss you desperately but we are not ever truly alone. We have been loved by you and you echo within our thoughts, in our words and in our hearts. What you did and who you were has become part of all that we are, forever.
The Jessome Family
