JENKINS, REV. HAROLD LORNE
The passing of Rev. Harold Lorne Jenkins of Fredericton, NB, husband of Vivian (Jewett) Jenkins occurred on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 23, 1937 in Waterboro, NB, he was the son of the late Irvine and Beulah (Bishop) Jenkins.
Harold was ordained into the ministry in 1995. He was the founding pastor of Lincoln Christian Outreach Center in 1996. After retiring in 2002, he continued to be the Associate Pastor to Pastor Rev. Weldon Mutch at the new facility, Victory Tabernacle on Killarney Road. Harold’s great loves were his God, his family and his church. He loved children, especially his granddaughters and great grandchildren. Harold loved to hunt and fish and spend time at his camp with his boys. He was a great people person and never met a stranger. He always had a hand outstretched to help someone in need. Harold was well respected and loved by his church family and in his community. He will be greatly missed. A special thank you to all the nurses and doctors on 4SW for their care and concern.
In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by his two son, Troy Jenkins (Terry) and Todd Jenkins both of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Michelle, Breanna and Samatha; great grandchildren, Avayah and Jaxxon; sisters, Bernice Larsen and Alice Lyons (Darryl) both of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Edward Jenkins (Mary) of Connecticut, Lloyd Jenkins of Chipman, NB, Ralph Jenkins (Dorothy) of Saint John, NB and Burnham Jenkins of Toronto; sisters-in-law, Yvonne and Mildred Jenkins. several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parent, he was predeceased by his brothers, Gilbert and David Jenkins and sister-in-law, Mary Jenkins.
Visitation will take place at Victory Tabernacle Church on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the church on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 1 pm with Rev. Weldon Mutch officiating. Interment will take place at Scotch Settlement Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Victory Tabernacle Church – Building Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
