Emily Erickson of Swift Current, SK and formally of Abbey, SK passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday May 21, 2015 at the age of 89 after a brief stay at the Palliser Regional Health Centre. She leaves to cherish her memory her Son; Enos (Sharyl) of Abbey, Grandson; Greg (Darla), Great Grandsons; Dallen, Trey & Bryton of Saskatoon. Granddaughter; Michelle (Todd) Radloff, Great Granddaughter; Kaia & Great Grandson; Breck of Austin, Texas. Her siblings Alec Resch, Mary Harris, Jack (Betty) Resch, Charlie Resch, Jean Smith, Sam (Marion) Resch, Tillie (Bill) Groves, Pat Resch & numerous nieces, nephews & friends. She was predeceased by her loving son Edward (Bobby), husband Andrew Erickson, companions Bill Allan & Robert Braaten. Her sisters Rose Meyer & Elizabeth Tuchscherer, sisters-in-law Kathleen & Betty Resch & brothers-in-law John Meyer, Norman Smith & Gerry Harris. Emily was born in Prelate, SK on March 28, 1926 to Jack & Philomena Resch & was raised on the "Resch farm" South of Lancer. Being the oldest child, Emily helped raise her younger siblings. She spent most of her life in the Abbey area, then moved to Calgary & finally to Swift Current, where she spent the last 10 years living at the Heritage Towers seniors housing. Emily had a big heart & was a caregiver to many over the years & always had an open door. She took immense pleasure in seeing her Great Grandchildren & she always made sure there was lots of goodies for them to fill their pockets. Emily loved music & dancing was a favourite past time over the years. Even though she was struggling with back pain she went to her last dance just a few weeks prior to her passing. The interment will take place at the Abbey Community Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
