LEAMAN, Hazen Edward – age 82, Ireton, Yarmouth Co., passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 30, 1933 in Milton, Queens Co., he was a son of the late Thomas and Victoria (Martell) Leaman. Hazen worked at the Yarmouth Fish Hatchery for 36 years, and in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette K. (Bagley) Leaman, as well as by their children, Virginia Hill, Jeff (Gina) Leaman, Roy (Sharlene) Leaman, David (Erin) Leaman; grandchildren, Adam, Archie, Christopher, Josh, Laura, Thomas, Logan, Alex and great grandchildren, Nicholas, Abigail and Nolan. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Gallant and a half-sister, Nora Mae Mombourquette. In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23 at H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Yarmouth, Rev. Mr. Stephen Bourque officiated. Private interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Tri-County Site of the VON, the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
