It is with great sadness that the family of the late Raymond Joseph Lavers Sr. announce his passing on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre at the age of 79 years. He left this world surrounded by many family members he loved so dearly. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Agnes Ann Lavers; sons: Richard (Trudy), Raymond (Sandra), and Marcel; daughters: Wanda Caines (Larry), Lisa Barton (Glen), Debbie Lavers (Brian), and Kelly Veitch (Brent). Raymond was a beloved grandfather of Jennifer, Sheldon, Jason, Aimee, Bradley, Natasha, Joshua, Renee, Kayla, Ashley, Blaine, Candace, Brianna, Andrew, Liam, Meaghan, Noah, and Hailey. Raymond also had 17 great-grandchildren and was loved dearly by all. Also leaving to mourn his sisters: Lillian, Milda, and Rita, brother Melvin; as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Nora Lavers, brothers: Moses (Ella), Joe (Millie), and Matthew, sisters: Kaye (Warrick), Mary, and Nina, and his special furry friend Tia. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road today from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from Most Holy Redeemer Parish with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Wadhwa and his secretary Patricia and the nursing staff of 3 South at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre for their compassionate care.
