Beverley Louise Hogan

HOGAN
Beverley Louise
Bev was born in Chicago in 1934 to Lillian (Kennedy) and George Wootten and was raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Bev attended school at the Sacred Heart Convent and then Dalhousie University. She met her future husband and Newfoundlander, Guy Hogan, when he inadvertently discarded a license plate through her family's front room window. They married in 1956 and immediately moved to Dublin, Ireland where Guy was attending medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons. Bev and her growing family lived in Montreal and Boston during Guy's internship and residency but finally settled in the place she considered home, St. John's, NL. Bev had a love of life and fun. She was a generous and supportive wife, mother and friend. Her life was full, and rich but greatly diminished by the loss of Guy in 2002. Bev really appreciated the friendship and watchful eye of her Falkland Street neighbours and the companionship of Frank and Joan Boland, her Brigus neighbours. Bev died peacefully on June 22, 2015. She leaves with many happy memories her children, Gail (Ian Wallace), Guy (Heather), Kelly (Joanne Coleman), Holly (Michael Crummey), Tracy (Robert Perry), son-in-law Mike Basha and grandchildren, Stuart, Claire and Duncan Wallace, Sarah, Emily, Scott and Andrew Hogan, Arielle and Robin Hogan, Ben Basha, Katie and Heidi Perry. Bev was predeceased by her infant son Stephen, her sister-in-law Dr. Joan Hogan and her brother George Wootten. She is warmly remembered by her sister Georgia and brother Ken, her brother-in-law Mike Hogan and his wife and her dear friend Dean, her sisters-in-law, Dianne Wootten, Lois Wootten, Sheila Morris, Ann Hogan, Maureen Doyle and many nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home 329 Freshwater Road, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Teresa's Church on Saturday June 27, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
