McCONCHIE, SHARON ANNE
It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Sharon Anne (MacAlpine) McConchie at home in Central Hampstead on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the age of 69. Sharon was born June 10, 1946, the eldest daughter of the late (John) Stanley and Mavis (Jones) MacAlpine.
Sharon took a great interest and pride in her community and family. She was a member of the Anglican Church Women, the Ladies Orange Benevolent Association, 4-H Club, Upper Hampstead Cemetery Committee and the Queens County Fair Committee. Sharon studied to be a school teacher, and taught for a year in Rothesay before marrying James McConchie in 1968 and starting her family. Together they raised five children and are cherished grandparents to 13 grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, James, of 47 years; daughters, Gail (James) Carpenter of Wickham, Susan (Michael) Wall of Nasonworth, Ella Mae (Patrick) Morrell of Alberta and Jenny (Shawn Randall) McConchie of Upper Gagetown; son, Stanley (Jayde) McConchie of Central Hampstead; sisters, Barbara Briggs, Ruth MacAlpine, Joyce Pitre and Dale MaGee; 13 grandchildren, Joel and Kaitlynn Morrell, Amy, Ally and Josh McConchie, Caroline, Kathlene, Cole and Cohen Carpenter, Keegan and Gabriel Wall and Lily and Emily Randall; several nieces, nephews, one aunt, one uncle and many friends.
Sharon is predeceased by her parents; sister-in-law, Jessie Harrison and brothers-in-law, Billy Briggs and Gerald McConchie.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Orange Lodge Benevolent Association will do a tribute at 6:45 pm before the evening visitation. A funeral service will be held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Queenstown, NB on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Sandra Hounsell-Drover officiating. Interment will take place in the Central Hampstead Cemetery following the service.
For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made to the Queenstown Orange Hall (maintenance) or the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church Maintenance Fund (Anglican Parish of Gagetown).
