The family of the late Catherine Long, Little Bras D’or wish to express our heartfelt thanks to our family, friends, co-workers and neighbours for their kind expressions of sympathy over the loss of our mother. We are extremely grateful to those who sent cards, emails, made donations in mom’s memory, visited, phoned, brought food, attended the funeral, and those who kept us in their thoughts and prayers. Special thanks to mom’s family doctor, Dr. John Kirkpatrick and Marilyn MacAulay for their many years of caring for mom. To the Palliative Care team, especially Dr. John Ritter, Dr. A.F. D’intino, and mom’s Palliative Care nurse, Cathy MacMillan for being there for us. To our Cancer Centre “family”, especially Dr. Mahmoud-Ahmed, Wendy Simpson and Brenda MacPherson for all their kindness and support. To Annette and Raymond Maclean, we appreciate everything you done for us. Your friendship will never be forgotten. To Ellen Thomey for driving Kraig home from the airport in Halifax. To Father Patrick O’Neill for officiating at the funeral mass, along with the organist, choir, altar servers at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. To the readers: Judy O’Handley, Kraig and Kevin Bates. To the Pallbearers: (grandsons-) Kurtis Maxwell, Evan Maxwell and Kraig Bates ;( son-in- laws) Kevin Bates and Erick Maxwell along with mom’s special cousin Paul Gillis. Last of all, we would like to express a sincere thank you to the management and staff of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney, for your kindness, compassion and professionalism during our difficult time.
