It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Alice Hardy on June 24, 2015. Surrounded by family, Mary died peacefully in her home in Toronto. Loving mother and spouse, Mary leaves behind her husband George Quan and children Nicholas and Juliana. Mary was born in Alberton, 1959, the daughter of the late Raymond Hardy and H. Isabel Hardy (nee Wells). Growing up in Montrose with her siblings Ivan (Theresa), Walter, Laura (John), and Allison (Natalie), Mary attended the one-room Montrose School and Alberton High School. A devoted family member, Mary served as adoring aunt for Crystal, Jason, James, Raymond, Rosemary, and David. Dedicated teacher, Mary taught in PEI, Alberta, and most recently Ontario, where she spent a number of years working with Special Education children. She settled in Toronto, where she raised her family. The family will receive visitors at St. James Chapel in Toronto, on Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
