Earl Bernard  Horne

It is with much sadness we, his family, announce the peaceful passing of Earl Bernard Horne, at his residence, Horne’s Road, Mira, on June 24. 2015.
He was the son of Helen (MacNeil) Horne and the late Kendall Horne.
He graduated from Riverview High School. He was a member of the IUPAT Local Union 1945 and worked for various drywall companies in Cape Breton. He was also a member of the RCSC 2, Sea Cadets and the Albert Bridge Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan who cheered harder than most. He loved playing lob-ball with the Mira Tigers for a number of years, his team even won the championship in 1987.
Earl is survived by his much-loved son, Jeffrey; sister, Judy (Greg 'Freddie') Harte; brothers, Danny (Brenda), Albert (Faith), Donald Wayne, Jimmy (Kim), as well as many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his brother, Tommy.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday, June 27, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at Union Presbyterian Church, Albert Bridge on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Allan MacLellan officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
