It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of Lillian Marie Donovan, age 61, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in North Sydney, Lillian was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lillian (Pearcey) Keigan.
She was employed with National Sea Products for a number of years. Lillian enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Lillian is survived by her husband Harold Donovan; her sons, Bill (Amelia) Donovan, Little Pond, Kevin (Sheila) Donovan, Boularderie; her daughter Susan Donovan (Troy), Sydney Mines; her grandchildren, Cody, Nicholas, Tristan, Billy, Erica, Kevin and Sophie; her sisters, Edie (Bill) Bonar, Millville, Edna (Sherman) Devoe, Florence, Lucy (Felix) Smith, Wagamatcook, Jean Keigan, North Sydney, Cathy (Scott) Leamon, Sydney Mines; her brothers, Bill (Rachael) Keigan, Sydney Mines, Jerry (Brenda) Keigan, Ontario, Tom (Emily) Keigan, Sydney Mines, Dave Keigan, Ontario, Lenny (Angela) Keigan, Sydney Mines, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Lillian was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Dorothy Young, Marie Gerrow and Elizabeth in infancy; her brothers, Ernie and Dennis Keigan.
No public visitation by request. A funeral mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, North Sydney with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
