The death of Alvin Boyd Richards, age 84, Maritime Odd Fellows Home (formerly of Salt Springs, Pictou County), occurred on Friday, June 26, 2015, at the Home in Pictou.
Born in North River, Colchester County, to the late Percy and Nellie (Upham) Richards, he is survived by son, Darrell (Ruth) Richards, and daughter, Deborah (Brian) White. Also survived by sister, Lois Stewart; former wife, Ella Jean (Skidmore) Shaw; partner, Jean Mason; several sisters-in law and brothers-in-law; grandchildren: Leah (Tim) Taylor, Jeremy (Justyna) Richards, Geoffrey White, Shannon (Robert) Donald, and great-grandchildren, Abigail and James; nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by sisters, Greta Bird, Edith Carter, Elsie Barzilay; brothers: Frank, Arnold, Clifford, Victor, Lloyd, and Curtis.
No visitation and no funeral by Alvin's request; cremation will be followed by burial at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. If desired, donations to Maritime Odd Fellows Home (Staff Fund) or St. Luke's United Church, Salt Springs, would be appreciated.
