The family of Mora Jean Clarke are sad to announce her death in Ottawa on Saturday, June 27, 2015.
Mora was born in Sydney in 1922 to the late Donald Lamond and Sarah MacAulay, both of Albert Bridge, Cape Breton.
She is survived by seven sons, Donald (Maggie) of Fredericton, Russell (Eileen) of Ottawa, Keith (Mary) of Marion Bridge, Douglas (Delia) of Marion Bridge, Robert (Gisele) of Edmonton, Tim of Moose Jaw and Sam of Whitehorse. Also surviving are sister, Catherine Campbell of Whitehorse and brother, Cameron (Marilyn) Lamond of Montreal.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Clarke, her brother, John Lamond of Sydney, and sisters, Effie MacKay of New Waterford and Edna Taylor of Sydney. She will be greatly missed by her 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and her beloved nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff of St. Patrick's Home of Ottawa for the careful care they provided our mother.
A very special and heartfelt thanks to her friends, Eleanor MacDonald and Helen Ball for the friendship, love and care they offered her in her final years.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service in her heart's home, Albert Bridge, is planned for August. The details will be announced at a later date.
