The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Sunday, June 28, 2015, of Alyre Arsenault, of South Rustico, aged 69.
Alyre was the beloved husband of Mona (nee Bourgoin); father of Michel, Andy (Maude Desjardins), Dale (Kim) and Lisa; and Pepe of Malik and Lukas Bourgoin; Gabriel and Brianna Arsenault; Alex and Kaitlyn Taylor; Ethan and Chloé Arsenault; and Keira Dionne-Arsenault. He is also survived by his sisters, Camilla Arsenault, Estelle Gerritsen and Hilda MacDonald; brother, Allan; sister-in-law, Roma Arsenault; members of the Bourgoin family; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Augustin and Cecile (Gallant) Arsenault; stepfather, Camille Gallant; brother, Arthur; brothers-in-law, Sam MacDonald, Tony Gerritsen and Noel Bourgoin; sister-in-law, Jeannette Arsenault; and parents-in-law, Benoit and Annette (Coté) Bourgoin.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, July 2, 2015, 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, South Rustico, on Friday, July 3, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Augustine's Cemetery.
