Albina Major

Albina Marie MAJOR
August 29, 1922 – June 26, 2015

With heavy hearts we are mourning the loss of our mother – Albina Major who passed away June 26, 2015 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law Marj and Jim Stewart. Mom definitely knew how to work hard and did so with dad for 60 years. Mom and Dad had four daughters and as a family worked together on their mixed farming operation, which included their registered Hereford cattle. This they did with great pride. Mom loved to dress up and look her best. Her greatest accessory was that beautiful smile – which she wore for everyone she met. Mom was always the cornerstone of our family and instilled a close knit family bond that we all feel and believe. Mom was very generous and always gave from her heart and put everyone before herself. Family and family gatherings were Mom’s favourite time. It gave her a reason to cook and feed everyone. Mom is survived by her daughters Kathy (Gordon) Grassick, May (Arthur) Ife, Marjorie (Jim) Stewart and Marilyn (Ernie) Anderson; 12 grandchildren and their spouses and 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Michael Major; her parents Marjan and Anna Ruszkowski; her in-laws Charlie and Catherine Major; her brothers Walter and Stanley Ruszkowski and one infant brother. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015. Both services will be held at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Tuan Doan. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to a Charity of Donor’s Choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
