Diane Novaczek

NOVACZEK, DIANE FRANCES
It is with deep sadness that the family of Diane Novaczek announce her death on June 25, 2015 at Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Shirley (Purdy) Cole, and wife of the late John Novaczek.
As well as her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by her mother-in-law, Barbara Nowaczek of Oxford, N.S.
A graduate of the Saint John General Hospital School of Radiologic Technology, Diane worked in Perth-Andover, Moncton and Vancouver before returning to live in Rothesay in 1982. In 1983 she began working in the Dept. of Diagnostic Imaging at St. Joseph's Hospital, retiring in 2007 after many years as supervisor of the Breast Screening Program. She took up quilting at that time and was a member of the Saint John branch of Victoria's Quilts Canada. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed several trips abroad with both family and friends.
Diane is survived by her daughter Katherine and Katherine’s husband Phillip Perry of Saint John; brothers Wayne (Linda Butcher) of Ottawa and Gerald of North Vancouver; brothers-in-law, Ernest Novaczek (Irenee) of Breadalbane, P.E.I., and Ronald Nowaczek(Brenda) of Oxford, N.S.; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Nowaczek of Amherst, N.S., Mary Anne Nowaczek of Halifax, N.S. and Linda Boylan (Curtis) of New Ross, N.S., as well as many nieces and nephews, and by her faithful dog, Marilyn.
The family wish to extend special thanks to Mickie MacKenney and Julie Schollenberg for their friendship and thoughtfulness and to all of the very special staff in the I.V. Day Hospital at St. Joe’s, thanks for your care over the past four years.
Under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) cremation will take place. A family memorial will be held at a later time.
Remembrances would be appreciated to the SPCA, Victoria's Quilts Canada, and Bobby's House.
