With saddened hearts we regret to announce the passing of a precious father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on June 28, 2015.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Stanley and Jessie (Walker) Locke.
Jack is survived by his son, Walter (Cathy), Calgary, Alta.; two granddaughters, Catie (Kyle) and Emilie and two great-grandchildren, Lyla and Kayden.
Surviving are his brothers, Art (Karen) Saint John, N.B. and Tom (Marie), Dominion; also his sisters, Deborah Kopinto, Barre, Mass., USA, Lucy (Bill) Digout, St. Peter's, Martha Bartlett, St. Stephen, N.B., Doris Devison, Sydney, Beulah King and Margie (Ralph) Moore, both of Glace Bay, Gloria (Bill) Kutcherawy, Mississauga, Ont. and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret in 1989; his brothers, Les, John, Sam, David and Sonny and his sister, Lovey.
He lived in Toronto for a number of years working for the city and Goodyear but returned to Cape Breton and worked for Devco until his retirement.
As per James request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A service will be held at the Salvation Army, Union Street, Glace Bay on, Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. with interment at St. John’s Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Salvation Army or to a charity of one’s choice.
