It is with heavy hearts that the family of Walter David Brown announce his passing which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on Monday, June 29, 2015 with family by his side.
Walter was born on May 23rd, 1942 in Saint John, NB to the late Everett and Elizabeth (Park) Brown, and was a loving husband to Lora (Secord) Brown, son Bruce (Jennifer Thomas) Williams Lake, BC., daughter Brenda Brown Oahu, Hawaii, brothers; Ronald (Abbie) Saint John, Donald (late Betty) of Fort Saskatchewan, Jack (Betty) of Lepreau, sisters; Edith(Wendell Brown) of PEI, Margaret Wallace (Late Eugene) of Grand Bay, Sharon Cormier (Raymond) St. Stephen, grandchildren; Gavin Tyson Brown, Molly Rose Brown, sister-in-law Rowena Brown of PEI, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Walter was predeceased by brothers Murray and George (late Ann).
Walter graduated from the Saint John Vocational School, Motor Mechanics in 1961, he worked at Canadian National Railway as a tractor trailer driver and Car Man for 35 years, retiring in 1995. Walter enjoyed country and western music, playing the fiddle and guitar, with Winston Crawford, and the Old Time Fiddlers and going to jams and kitchen parties on the Ridge with Sylvia Campbell and friends. Walter also enjoyed trailering, traveling and skiing in NB and Maine with his family and friends. As the years passed and the children vacated the nest, Walter and Lora became snowbirds in Florida and traveled to see their children in BC and Hawaii.
Visitation will be held at The Church of The Resurrection, 20 Macdonald Ave., Grand Bay Westfield on Monday, July 6th, from 10:00 to 11:00 Immediately followed by a Service to Celebrate Walters life at 11:00 am. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Bobby's Hospice or The Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Bewick, Cardiac Rehab, Extra Mural, the staff at Bobby’s Hospice for their exceptional care. Special thanks to friends and family who provided comfort to Walter and his family.
