CULLINS, DONALD ARTHUR FAULKNER - 1940 - 2015 - After a long and courageous battle with health, the family of Donnie Cullins sadly announce his passing on Friday, July 3rd, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Oakland, NB, August 5th, 1940, he was the son of the late Joseph and Edith (Muxworthy) Cullins and loving husband to Lorraine (Winchester) Cullins.
Donnie will be dearly missed by his children; Howard Cullins (Terry), Joe Cullins (Gail), Bobby Cullins (Tammy) all of Saint John, Stephen Cormier of Alberta, Tim Cullins (Andrea) and Brian Mason (Tracy) both of Saint John; daughters Brenda Cullins (Virginia) of Nova Scotia, Dawn Cullins, Donna Soucy (Eldon), Brenda Cormier and Tricia Flaglor (Tommy) all of Saint John; brother Henry Cullins (Eunice) of Oakland, NB; 18 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several extended family members and friends.
Donnie was predeceased by his special angel Rosalyn and brothers Richard and Charles Cullins Donnie was employed as a welder for Saint John Ship Building for more than 35 years. Following the shutdown of the Drydock, he joined the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires and was very proud to wear their uniform for 14 years until declining health forced him to retire in 2013. He also volunteered with the Saint John Salvage Corp donating his service wherever he was needed. Donnie absolutely adored his grandchildren, he lived and breathed for them. He
was a kind and jovial man who always wore a smile on his face. His family fondly recall his love of lottery tickets and his wish to “win big” and take them all to Disneyland, as well as, his talent for convincing all the youngsters in the family that he truly was Elvis Presley’s brother. He was deeply loved and will be fondly remembered.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visiting Sunday from 2 to 8 pm. The memorial service will be held Monday, July 6th, 2015 from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 1 pm. Remembrances in memory of Donnie can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Bobby’s Hospice or the Canadian Daibetes Society.
