Diane Whittaker

WHITTAKER, DIANE MARILYN
Surrounded by her loving family, Diane Whittaker, wife of James Howard Whittaker, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born June 12, 1949 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Vanwart) MacKay.
Diane was a member of the New Brunswick Hairdresser Association, and owned and operated Diane’s Hairstyling in Grand Bay for several years. She also worked in flower and garden centres, and was a volunteer at Bobby’s Hospice. She will be missed by her great friends and her family, including her cherished grandson, whom she loved very much and delighted in seeing him grow into the young man he is today.
In addition to her loving husband of 46 years, Jim, Diane is survived by her children: Angela Keefe (Ronald), Michael, and Shelley (her son, Nicholas and his dad, Trevor Macdougall); sisters: Joyce Learmonth (Gordon), Linda Putsey, Jean King, and Sharon Mizener (Al); sister-in-law, Dorothy MacKay; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her best friend, Sharon Case.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Carl MacKay.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, volunteers, and staff of Bobby’s Hospice for their exceptional care of Diane during her time there. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 12 noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
