Passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015, Harold Edgar Parsons in his 87th year. A Mount Pearl pioneer whose family was one of the original twelve in the area. As a young man he built his home on Churchill Avenue and remained in that house for over 60 years. A master plumber by trade, Harold supervised the plumbing and mechanical installation in many of the province's hospitals, schools, trade schools and public buildings. Harold loved life, his family, the outdoors, and lived life on his own terms. Predeceased by his wife Georgina, infant daughter, granddaughter Erin Bursey, parents James and Mary Parsons, sisters: Gladys, Elizabeth, Marjorie and baby Ruth, brothers: Douglas and Robert. Leaving to mourn Children: Pamela Bulgin (Cyril), Jo-Anne Parsons, Geoff Parsons (Valerie Long), Jackie Bursey (Glenn), Tina Pretty (Keith Escott), Jim Parsons (Darcy); Grandchildren: Bob Pope (Kelly Hyde deceased), Genevieve Bulgin (Paul Goulart), Stephen Pope (Sarah), Tara Bulgin (Joshua LeBlanc), Andrew Bursey, Jayn Pretty (Ryan Peyton), Colin Bursey (Brooke Phinney), Robin Pretty, Scott Parsons, Kate Parsons; Great Grandchildren: Sawyer LeBlanc, Sienna Goulart, Kenneth Goulart, Harlow LeBlanc and Heath Peyton; Brothers: Tim (Bette)and George (Florence deceased); Sister: Mary Ruth; Sisters-in-law: Elsie Parsons and Hazel Parsons; Brother-in-law Andrew Smith (Helen). Visitation Wednesday, July 8 at Barrett's Funeral Home on Commonwealth Avenue, Mt. Pearl, from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, July 9 at the First United Church, Park Ave., Mt. Pearl at 2:00 pm. Committal to take place at St. Matthews Cemetery Gould's. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at the Bliss Cancer Clinic; Palliative Care staff at the L.A. Miller Centre; Public Health Nurse Regina Guinchard, Nurse Practitioner Leah Forsey, special grandson Bob Pope for the many sleepovers with his Pop, also the care and concern of extended family and neighbours.
