GOGUEN, ANTHONY "TONY"
Anthony "Tony" Goguen, 92, of Ringwood Street, Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, July 5, 2015 following a brief illness. Born September 24, 1922 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Évangéline (Bourque) Goguen.
Tony had served during W.W.2 with the Merchant Marines, and later worked at CN as a stationery engineer until his retirement. He was a member of the Dieppe Veterans Association, past member of CN Pensioners Association, and also volunteered at the Mapleton Food Bank. He enjoyed dancing at the CN Veterans Club, his Jazz record collection, golfing, and gardening.
He will be fondly remembered by his niece and nephews: Pat Phelan (Dominique), Jane O’Rourke (Stephen), and Peter LeBranch: great nephews: John, Nicholas, Benoit, and Peter Phelan; great-nieces: Kristin (Shaun) and Karen O’Rourke.
Two sisters; Rita LeBranch and Bertie Phelan predeceased him.
The funeral service will be celebrated at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday, July 9th at 1 pm. A reception at the centre will follow. Interment will be in Shediac Road Cemetery, Moncton.
The family wishes to thank the staff at McNair Manor for the excellent care given to Tony.
