McCabe, Sarah Elizabeth – age 36, Truro passed away suddenly at home July 5, 2015. Born in Truro May 19, 1979, she was the daughter of Christine and Michael McCabe. Sarah loved to play sports, especially hockey. She was a member of the Nova Scotia Canada Winter Games Team that competed in Alberta in 1995. She was very popular with her team mates and made numerous friends while playing sports over the years. She had a great sense of humor and was famous for her comical one liners. Sarah will be sadly missed by her nieces, Annalyse and Maggie and nephew, Malcom whom she cherished dearly. These three wonderful children were the love of her life. Sarah was a “KID” at heart and when she was with her nieces and nephew, three kids suddenly became four. Sarah taught her niece, Annalyse how to skate and Maggie and Malcom were next on her list. Sarah leaves behind her wonderful dog and companion “Sky”. They could often be seen around town and also walking the various trails in Colchester County. She is survived by her parents, Chris and Mike McCabe; brothers, Dale (April), Matt; nieces Annalyse, Maggie; nephew, Malcom and several uncles, aunts and cousins. Special thanks are extended to Rachel and Wendy – your kindness and caring will never be forgotten. A celebration of Sarah’s life will take place on Sunday, July 12 from 2-4 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Interment at a later date. Donations in Sarah’s memory may be made the local SPCA.
