Cora Winifred "Winnie" Lemmon

Lemmon, Cora Winifred “Winnie” - Age 84, Truro, passed away suddenly July 6th, 2015 at home. Born in Upper Musquodoboit, she was the daughter of the late Lawson and Ella (Fleming) Joudrey. Known as Winnie to many and Cora to some, she had a keen sense of humor and loved to laugh. Her smile and twinkle in her eyes gave hint to the beautiful soul within. Noted for wearing her favorite color red. She spent a good part of her years working as a seamstress for Stanfields, Wearwell, and Suttles & Seawinds. Not only did she love to quilt, knit, collect spoons, family photos and thimbles, she also loved to dance, travel, watch cooking shows, eat out and be around babies and people; especially with those she loved. She will be terribly missed. She leaves behind her loving son Kenneth, Truro, and his father Fred Graham, Truro; granddaughter, Louise (Calvin) Sutherland, PEI; great grandchildren, Danielle, Truro, Emily, Dylan and Drew, all from PEI and great-great grandchild, Zachery, Truro. Also surviving are stepsons, Francis, Dean, Kenneth, Dean, Robert, Upper Stewiacke, Ronnie, Ontario and Royce, Dartmouth; stepdaughters, Marilyn, Ontario, Kathy, Truro, Susan, Upper Stewiacke and Pam, Dean; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; brother, Russell (Edena) Joudrey and sisters, Effie Graham and Iris Janes all from Truro; Six nieces and seven nephews. She is predeceased by sister, Ruby Sutherland; daughter-in-law, Donna Graham; husband, Lawrence Lemmon; stepsons, Darrell and Roland Lemmon. Visitation will be held at Sharon Presbyterian Church in Dean, Upper Musquodoboit from 1 - 1:45 pm, Friday, July 10th, 2015, with funeral service to follow at 2pm, Rev. Michael Henderson officiating. Burial to follow in Lemmon Hill Cemetery, Dean. Due to Winnie's Mom passing away because of breast cancer, she requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
