LeBlanc, Richard John - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother and uncle on July 7, 2015. Richard was the seventh child of the late David and late Vange (Surette) LeBlanc. Born on June 11th, 1965 in Yarmouth, he had just celebrated his 50th birthday surrounded by his family and friends. Richard was employed with McDonald’s for over 30 years and always committed to make his shift no matter what the circumstances. Many people would see him walking around town whether going to work, mass or out to the mall, never normally accepting a ride, happy to stroll. His love of music was evident to those that knew him especially the 70’s where he could name the song and artists within the first few chords. Taking after his mother, he had an impeccable memory recognizing people and remembering significant dates that most people would instantly forget. Fiercely independent one of his happiest moments was when he was able to become self-sufficient and live on his own with the help of YACRO in 1991. Richard was a faithful member of St. Ambrose Cathedral all his life. He never missed mass regularly participating weekly or on special feast days. Left to mourn his untimely death are his special friend, Donna Muise; his siblings, Connie (Don) Boudreau of Greenwood; Alan (Carolyn) of Kentville; Mike (Gisele) of Yarmouth; Peter (Heather) of Kentville; Patrick (Donna) of Yarmouth; Joanne Wallace (Bill Goodyer) of Wedgeport; Clare (Blair) Northcott of Saint John, NB; nieces and nephews, Tanya, Lesley, Melissa, Sarah, Erika, Danielle, Tracy, Alyson, Jeff, Nathan, Emily, Elizabeth and Samantha; several great nieces and nephews. Welcoming him into heaven are his parents, grandparents, nephews, Andrew and Stephen LeBlanc and brother-in-law, Gary Wallace. Visitation took place on Thursday, July 9th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth with a funeral mass at St Ambrose Cathedral, Friday July 10th at 3 pm. Family friend Father Keith Billard officiated, assisted by Father Gerald David. It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Stephen LeBlanc Memorial Award https://www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/stephen-leblanc-memorial-award-for-students-at-nsc/ or to charity of choice. You can leave messages of condolence or sign the on-line guestbook Huskilson’s Funeral Home website www.huskilson.net
