Scott Lawrence Melbourne MacLeod

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Scott Lawrence Melbourne MacLeod who passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 55 years of age.
Scott was the son of the late Ruth and Lawrence MacLeod and was predeceased by a brother Stewart in infancy.
Scott was a graduate of Morrison Glace Bay High School and St. Mary’s University Alumni. Scott was known to many as a local business owner of Scotty’s Pizza for 18 years. Previously, he was employed by Cape Breton Regional Health Authority. Scott was an accomplished tennis player. At one time ranked #1 in Nova Scotia and he also played in the Canada Games. He also played hockey with St. Mary’s University and for 25 years he played with the local Bombers Hockey Club. He coached minor hockey for over 10 years and was an avid Habs fan. He was a very generous person and a kind man. Donating to many sports teams and organizations. Scott was passionate about music and enjoyed a varied and wide collection. Scott touched many peoples lives and will be sadly missed by those who knew him.
Scott is survived by his loving family, Patsy Clarke and his sons, Scott, Ron and Lyndon; aunt, Beverly Nicholson (Roy) and best friend, Fred Janes.
Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, July 12 at Patten Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 13th at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Glace Bay.
