Katherine (Kay) Burke age 87 of Swift Current, SK passed away peacefully on July 7, 2015 at the Swift Current Care Centre in Swift Current, SK. She was born January 28, 1928 in Oakshella, SK to William & Mary Zorn of Grenfell, SK, along with 7 Brothers and Sisters. She married Barrie Burke from Climax in 1971 and they farmed in the Climax area until 1996 when they retired and moved to Swift Current, SK. Mom was a worker and did things like shovel gravel and throw bales. She could cook as well as anyone and at the farm neighbors would stop in for a visit just before dinner or supper as they always knew mom loved making people happy and always made made extra just in case. Every year she would plant large gardens to feed her family and lots of other friends and neighbors always asking nothing in return. It was the same with her strawberries, raspberries, apples, currents, gooseberries and other fruits. Mom loved flowers and enjoyed growing and caring for them. Coming down the drive way you could see all kinds and colors of flowers. She always had a dog or two as they were all family members, all special to her. She was predeceased by the love of her life her Husband Barrie in 2012 and Grandson Fred 1986. She is survived by her two loving Sons; Miles (Agnes) and Randy. Grandkids; Corey, Curtis, Chrysta, Kari, Kenny and Barrie. Great Grandkids; Chady, Evelyn, Azreal, Nevaeh, Serenity, Justin and Logan. She is also survived by Trixie her loving Mini-Pin. At their request no formal funeral service will be held. Katherine & Barrie will be interred at a later date at Memory Gardens Cemetery Swift Current,SK.
