MATTHEWS
Leona Margaret Matthews (Zopf) was born on the family farm near Rockglen, SK on Sept. 3, 1928. Her life journey ended peacefully on July 10, 2015. Her family is proud of her strength, determination and faith in the face of her numerous health challenges. She is predeceased by her parents Mike and Kate Zopf, brother Jackie, sisters: Barbara, Isabelle, and Beth; husband Neil and son Greg. She is survived by four daughters Wave (Randy), Karen (Wade), Vanessa (Al) and Glennis; one son Ashley (Brenda); one sister Eva Shwartz; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr.(Mrs.) Van Heerden and Dr. Deghani, the Regina Grace Hospice and the William Booth Care Home for the outstanding care they gave to Leona as she faced her health challenges. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 Third Ave. NW, Moose Jaw, on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Father Rick Krofchek will be the presiding celebrant. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to the William Booth Care Home, 50 Angus Rd., Regina S4R 8P6 or a charity of your choice in Leona's name.
