It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Catherine MacIntyre at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck.
She passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the age of 91. Mary was a resident of Alderwood Rest Home in Baddeck.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Sarah MacIntyre. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A devoted Catholic, Mary loved and lived her faith all her life. She prayed daily for everyone she knew. Her beautiful spirit and kind heart endeared her to all.
Aunt Mary will be especially missed by nieces, Morah (Glynn) Campbell, Sandra (Barry) Melski; nephew, Philip Steele. She was a great aunt to Chrissy, Lindsay, Alexander, Jenna, Kyle, Michelle, Curtis Nathan, Rosemary; great-grand aunt to Charlotte, Dallas, Angus.
Predeceased by sisters, Kay, Christina (Alex) Steele, brother John.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in MacAskill's Funeral Home, Baddeck. then on Friday from 12-1:30 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay, with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
