Beloved husband of 37 years to Linda (Labbe) Clyke. Loving father of Aaron (partner Melissa), Tara Chapple (husband Mark), Dean (wife Sasha), Henry (partner Lisa), James, Cathy (partner Sugith), Gerry Jr. (wife Mandalena), Geraldine Laforet (husband Paul Jr.), Charmaine Gazdic-Querney (husband Thomas), Sheryl Pilotte (husband Bruce Mahaffy deaceased), and Debra-Lee Clyke-Mariner. Cherished grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Wilfred, Robert, Francis, John, Leslie, James, Roman and Olive

Gerald was Born December 16th, 1930 in Truro, Nova Scotia and worked for INCO for 43 years where he was Captain and Instructor of the INCO Mine Rescue Team which was the first Northern Ontario team to win the Mine Rescue competition. He was an experienced baseball player with 25 years of coaching boys and girls in the Sudbury Minor Baseball League, including the OPP Strike Force travelling team. Gerry was recruited by INCO to play baseball for their competitive team and later played with the Coloured Kings Baseball Team which toured Ontario. Gerry played hockey with Copper Cliff and was an avid Golfer throughout his life. He was involved with the Afro-Heritage Association of Sudbury and helped organize their annual picnic.

A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held
in the
R.J. Barnard Chapel
Monday, July 20th, 2015 at 2:00 P.M.
Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home
233 Larch Street, Sudbury
Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
(Friends may gather in the chapel after 1:45 P.M. Monday)
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gerry Clyke Sr. Baseball Bursary.
