Arseneau, Joyce E. – Hilden

Arseneau, Joyce Elnor – Age 75, a lifelong resident of Hilden, passed away on July 17, 2015, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Joyce was the youngest daughter of the late Peter Sanders and Dorothy (Chapman) Sanders-Rother.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Francis “Frank”; daughters, Darlene Arseneau (Art Kennedy), Millbrook; Janet, Bedford; Susan Eldershaw (Dennis), Hilden; son, Michael (Debbie), Hilden; stepsister, Rose Armitage, Saskatoon; grandchildren, Jeffery, Daniel, Shane (Leana), Tiffany, Presley, Alona, Tracy (Nick), and Jesse; great-grandsons, Jaden, Landen and Oakley; sister, Doreen, Dartmouth; lifelong friend, Phyllis Crowe, Truro.
She was predeceased by her brother, Sonny; step-father, Max Rother; step-sister, Inga; step-brother, Paul.
Joyce worked as an activity director in various nursing homes, and was the video operator at the Truro Raceway. She was an avid volunteer, starting as a young adult as an Explorer and Cub leader. She had been past president of Kinette Club in Truro; was a member of the Fireside Club in Hilden; was respite provider for Mi’kmaq Children and Family Services; was past president of Truro Figure Skating Club. She had been a member of Ladies Auxiliary for the Hilden Fire Hall and Colchester Hospital, and was past treasurer and a lifetime member of Hilden United Church.
Cremation has taken place.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, at 1p.m., in Hilden United Church Hall, 1840 Irwin Lake Road, Hilden, Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Hilden Cemetery followed by a reception in the church hall.
Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Hilden Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
