Thomas Hillier
Thomas Albert Hillier, 63 of Linacy, formerly of Willowdale passed away suddenly at home on July 16, 2015.
Born in New Glasgow on May 7, 1952, Tom was the son of the late Robert and Helen Hillier (MacDonald)
Tom previously owned and operated his own Roofing and Siding business.
He also was an employee of Trenton Works for many years before taking a position as a driver with Thompson Bros in Alberta.
He was an avid prospector, storyteller, and a regular at most Tim Hortons in town.
Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Tom will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years, Sheryl (MacKay), sons Chris, Mississauga; Tom (Collete), Westville; David (Lorraine), Plymouth, and daughters Litocha (Chris), Merigomish and Susan (Guy) Oshawa; brothers Jimmy (Anne); Raymond; Bernie (Patsy) New Glasgow; Harry (Manitoba); Donald (Willowdale); Ronald (Gloria), Garden Of Eden; David (New Glasgow); Howard (Wendy) Willowdale; and sisters Letitia (Willowdale); Carol (John) New Glasgow; and Shirley (Elizabeth) Willowdale; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Grandchildren: Halle, Thomas, Seth, Riley, Madison, Noah, Chloe, Amanda, Christine, Jason,and Jonathan.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Kenneth, Richard, Johnny, Billy, and sister June.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Thursday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Dr. Glenn Matheson officiating. Interment will be in East River St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Donations can be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
