Nan will be fondly remembered as a gifted school teacher who taught in various parts of New Brunswick and continued to teach long into her eighties through the Laubach Literacy Program where she taught adults to read. Since retirement she remained actively involved in the church as an Elder and a member of the UCW, the Pictou County Literacy Council, Amnesty International, Mission and Service Committee, and as a volunteer on the Pictou County Help Line. Her remains are resting at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, where visitation will be held Saturday, July 25 from 6-8 pm.
