BARNES, Edwina Anne ‘Win’ (Everard) -66, of Simpson Road, Braeshore, Nova Scotia, and formerly of Newfoundland, passed away peacefully July 24, 2015 in the Palliative Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Born in St. John’s, she was a daughter of the late Edward & Martha (Nugent) Everard. Win was well known for her energy, enthusiasm and strong work ethic. She was an active volunteer in the community and lent her talents to many organizations, including St. James Anglican Church, the New Horizons Club and the Shiretown Nursing Home. Always on the go, she could usually be found swimming, biking, line dancing or walking with her friend, Linda. Win leaves to mourn, her loving husband, Gord; daughter, Frances (Randy) Ralph, St. John’s; son, Darryl, Kitchener, ON; grandchildren, Victoria, Andrew, Brittany, Ashley, and Amber; siblings, Elaine (Dwight) Highfill, New York; Jim (Bernice) Everard, Ronald Everard, and Robert (Darlene) Everard, all of Newfoundland. Also mourning her loss are ‘in-laws’, Bob & Tiz Barnes, Mount Pearl, NL; Elizabeth & Eugene Howlett, Goulds, NL; David & Sue Barnes, Halifax; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
