Veronica Campbell of Richard Hines Enriched Housing, 27 Xavier Dr., Sydney, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 with loving family by her side on July 26, 2015 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, An Cala Unit.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Ann (Morrison) Campbell.
Veronica was an amazing teacher who taught for 42 years with the majority of her career at Villanova School, Whitney Pier.
She is survived by sister, Theresa (Basil) Lewis, formerly of Sydney now living in Orleans, Ont.; as well as being a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and their families.
Veronica was predeceased by sisters, Louise Campbell, Jessie Campbell, Martina Campbell, Marguerite (Norman) Kennedy, Sadie (William) Keough, Margaret (Michael) McNeil, Mary (Billie) Burke, Agnes (Jack) MacDougall, Genevieve (Pierce) Keough, Sister Coline Campbell CND; brothers, Michael (Cecelia) and Rod (Carolyn).
Donations in Veronica’s memory may be made to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29 at T. W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 30th at Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier. Rev. Paul Murphy will officiate. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
