Basil J Chaisson
The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Friday, July 24, 2015, of Basil J. Chaisson, Whisperwood Villa, Charlottetown, aged 87 years. Husband of the late Bernetta (Doucette) Chaisson and Beverley MacAusland Chaisson, of Charlottetown. He was born in St. Edward on June 24, 1928, the son of the late Peter John and Mary Anne (Doucette) Chaisson. Dear father of Ronald (Eunice) Chaisson, Gravenhurst, Ont., and Margaret (Jean) Robert, Greenwood, N.S., and grandfather to Eric (partner Antoinette), Mark, Jonathan, Sacha-Bea (partner James Morris), Nicolas (partner Caitlyn), great-grandfather to Holly, Nick and Charlotte. He is also survived by stepchildren Jeanetta (Alan) Smallman, Calgary, Alberta; Janet (Albert) Bernard, Alberton; Elsie (late Brian) Arthur, Alberton; Connie (Norman) Gaudette, Tignish; Donald MacAusland, Charlottetown; Denice (Sterling) MacNeill, Cornwall, PE; Kyle (Bonni-Anne) MacAusland, Winnipeg, Manitoba; and Natasha MacAusland, Charlottetown; as well as numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by parents Peter and Mary Ann, wife Bernetta, sisters Catherine, May, Rita and Alice, brothers Alphonse, George, Eric, Wilfred, Medric and Phil. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral will be held Thursday, July 30, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Interment in the church cemetery.
