ELLIS, ROBERT JAMES “BOB”
It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Bob Ellis of Saint John, which occurred peacefully and unexpectedly at the homestead on Tuesday, July 28th, 2015. Born in Saint John in April of 1948, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Peterson) Ellis.
Bob was a plumber by trade and in earlier years worked at the Dry Dock, later working for various plumbing companies and then starting his own business “R. J. Ellis Plumbing & Heating Ltd.”. Before he retired, Bob worked for the City of Saint John as an assistant plumbing inspector and was an instructor at NBCC. As a NASCAR fan he enjoyed both getting together with friends for the races and heading out on the open road. Following in his father’s footsteps, Bob was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his daughters Amy Dicks (David) of Saint John and Beth Ellis (Blake Carleton) of Barnesville; their mother Marsha (Nickerson) Ellis of Saint John; brother Walter (Anna); sisters Elizabeth Muise, Barbara Steele (John), Arlene Holt (John) all of Saint John and Dorothy Ducas (Roland) of Willow Grove; several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends.
Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by a brother-in-law Fred Muise and a nephew Eric Muise.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).Visitation will be held on Friday July 31st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday August 1st at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
