In her 93rd year, Betty passed away peacefully on Aug. 1, 2015 in Glace Bay.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Lee (McInnis) and devoted wife of the late John J. MacDougall and widow to Alexander W. MacLeod.
She was the loving mother of the late Blaise A. MacDougall, Glace Bay.
Betty is survived by, and will be forever missed by her sisters, Rachel Shaw, Edna Christie and Charlene Egan. "Ninnie" was especially proud to be the grandmother to Darryl and his wife Nadine, John and Lori Ann; great-grandmother to Kyla, Adam, Nicole, Joshua and Kendra and great-great-grandmother to Landon and always having unconditional love for her step-grandchildren, Justine, Michelle, Kristen, Emma and Adeline, who all reside in Ontario. They all will forever share and cherish the many wonderful and happy memories she has left behind.
Betty was predeceased by her brothers, Jim, Arthur, Alex and sisters, Emma, Margaret, Nora and Murdena.
She will be truly missed by her devoted and much loved niece, Kathy Thiel, as well as her many other nieces, nephews, cousins and dearest friends.
Much appreciation to Taigh Na Mara Nursing Home staff.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass, officiated by Fr. Norman MacPhee will be at St. Anne's Church, Glace Bay on Wednesday, Aug. 5th, 2015 at 2 p.m. with reception to follow in the church foyer.
Any donations to the Kidney Foundation or Alzheimer's Society are appreciated.
