SLOAN, PERCY MYRON
Percy M. Sloan of Magaguadavic, NB passed away August 2, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. He was born at Magaguadavic in 1926, a son of the late Howard and Christine (Fraser) Sloan.
Percy was employed for several years with CPR as a brakeman. He was dearly loved by his family who considered him a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his children: Marilyn Short (Ronnie), McAdam, NB, Vivian McDonald (Johnny), Davenport, Florida, Darlene Donahue (Patrick), Harvey, NB, Dale Sloan (Debbie), Smithfield, NB, June Gillespie (Wendell), McAdam, NB, Mark Sloan (Angie), Magaguadavic, NB and Laurel Sloan, Harvey, NB. His grandchildren: Billy, Clint, Kim, Karen, Coleen, Shawna, Chantelle, Jacqueline, Shawn, Chad, Devon, Rachel, Philip and Shelby; nineteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Calcos, McAdam, NB; sisters-in-law, Glenna Little, Barb Sloan and Doreen Sloan; a brother-in-law, Wendell Newell and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Percy was predeceased by his first wife, Pertice (Tracy) Sloan, his second wife, June (Newell) Sloan, brothers, Travis, Gerald, Elwood, Teddy, Gary and infant Calvin.
Visiting hours will be held at the Harvey United Pentecostal Church, 2031 Route 3, Harvey Station, NB on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the church on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Todd McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at Sunny Bank Cemetery, Magaguadavic, NB. Honorary pallbearer will be grandson Clint McDonald and active pallbearers will be grandsons Billy Short, Shawn Sloan, Chad Donahue, Devon Donahue, Philip Sloan and Shelby Swan.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Percy, the family has suggested the Harvey United Pentecostal Church.
