McNUTT, ETHEL
Ethel McNutt, 94, of Hillsborough, passed away on August 5, 2015 at Fundy Royal Manor. Born in Petitcodiac, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Bertie (Goddard) O’Blenis.
Ethel worked at Eaton’s for 20 years and was also a bonded clerk for the Royal Bank in Toronto. She was never afraid to take on a new career. Ethel was an avid bowler and was the former president of the Senior Golden Jets at Fairlanes Bowling Alley in Moncton. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ethel is survived by her husband of 70 years, Harry; children, Carol (Phil) Hawkes, Gary (Nancy) McNutt, Janet (Arthur) Lee and Brian (Jackie) McNutt; grandchildren, Cindy, Debbie, Wade, Arthur Todd, Stacey, Rob, Tina and Clint; several great-grandchildren, great-great-granchildren, nieces and nephews; brothers, George O’Blenis and Hubert O’Blenis; sisters Marjorie McCarthy, Cora MacDougall and Ida Harper.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughter, Beverly; grandchildren, Brent and Betsy; brothers, Raymond O’Blenis; and sister, Florence MacDonald.
By request, there will be no funeral service. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Rd, Moncton, NB, E1E 3V9, (506) 852-3530. A private interment will take place in Boundary Creek Cemetery at a later date.
