It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we the family of the Late Claude Smith announce his passing on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL at the age of 82 years. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 57 years Marilyn; children: Larry (Betty), Carol (Donnie) Hutchings, Heather (Bob) Archer, Susan (Brian) Joy; grandchildren: Geoffrey and Lacey Smith, Alexa and Ryan Archer, Sarah and Megan Joy; great-granddaughter Sophia Smith; step-grandchildren Brittany and Cody Hutchings; brothers: Clayton (Marie), Joe (Ninie); sisters: Janet Peyton, Ivy Welsh; brother-in-law Allison (Maude) Spurrell; sisters-in-law: Mary Smith, Jean (Al) Reid; special cousin Dot (Ed) Miller as well as nieces, nephews, other family and many many friends. He was predeceased by his brothers: Ed, Jack (Freda), Arthur (Violet); sister Eliza (Graham) Cull; brothers-in-law: John Peyton and Samuel Spurrell. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing, NL on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Stephenville at 2 p.m. with Father Nick Griffith officiating. Interment will be in the Anglican Cemetery, Stephenville Crossing, NL following the service. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Bay St. George Sick Children's Foundation or All Saints Anglican Church Building Fund.
