It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Marilyn 'Bucky' Ryan on Aug. 5, 2015 at New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in Sydney, Sept. 6, 1934, she was a daughter of the late George and Mae (Beach) Wambolt. She resided in Sydney until she married the love of her life, Gerard 'Boom Boom', and they started their life together in New Waterford.
Bucky loved life and loved to laugh, whether it was a crowd of people at the house, a bingo game, or a card game, she always made people smile.
She is survived by daughters, Emma (Ernie) McLeod, Grace (Bob) Timmons, Thelma (Gerry) Ryan, all of New Waterford; two sisters, Janet Doran of Sydney, Velzora (Tiny) Campbell of New Brunswick and one brother, Gordie of Mull River; grandchildren, Greg (Bev), Tanya (Chris), Brian (Denise) and Lisa (Darren); ten great-grandchildren, Jamie, Thomas, Katie-Ann, Dakota, Madisyn, Brandon, Dominic, Maria, Breanna and Calvin, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bucky is also survived by her best friends, Adeline Durelle and Dorothy Parr; special sister-in-law, Annabelle Wambolt, as well as her friends from the New Waterford K-40 and Kinettes Club.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Gerard; sisters, Erna, Ada, Grace, and Thelma; brothers, Ace, Frank, Earl, George, Erne, Powley and Melvin and a grandchild in infancy.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Monday, Aug. 10th at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Cremation will follow with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery at a later date. A luncheon will be held in St. Leonard’s Parish Hall, Convent Street, immediately following the funeral mass.
